I am delighted to be invited to be part of the very beautiful 21st Anniversary Artisans in the Gardens Exhibition and show, hosted by the Foundation and Friends of the Botanic Gardens in Sydney.

As a new-ish artist, this is a really big deal for me! It's the Royal Botanic Gardens!!

WHEN: Saturday 29 October to Sunday 6 November 2022
TIMES: 10am-4pm each day.
WHERE: Lions Gate Lodge and gardens - Royal Botanic Gardens, Sydney on Mrs Macquarie Road, Sydney.

I'll be in the company of some of the most prestigious artists whose work is botanical and nature-based. I'm truly humbled and honoured that my illustrations of Australian native wildlife, featured on artist cards, screen-printed aprons and tea towels will be part of the mix and available for purchase.

I have been invited to draw live during the show as a BONUS!

ILLUSTRATION DEMONSTRATION: Thursday 3 November 10am - 2pm(ish)

I really enjoy the challenge of drawing Australian native animals live! I draw at my exhibitions, markets and pictured here in June, at The Calyx (Botanic Gardens) Inside The Tide Exhibition. It's an opportunity to engage in conversations about creativity, marine life (my specialty) and also, conservation issues.

This is part of my way of doing Creativity for Conservation, advocacy and education - ENGAGE, NOT ENRAGE!

At Artisans in the Gardens, I'll focus on illustrating a pollinator, as part of my efforts to raise awareness about pollination by animals.

In September I launched an new range called Pollen Nation, which features Buzzie the Bee. We're working with Rotarians for Bees NSW, to try and raise some funds and awareness of the issues faced right now with bees and the Varroa Mite. Pollen Nation features on screen printed aprons, tea towels, totebags, posters, stickers, cards, and more!

BUT - I'm thinking of doing a pollinator you may not have thought of as important!!!

Foundation & Friends is a non-profit organisation that raises money to fund special projects and support the Royal Botanic Garden, Sydney, Blue Mountains Botanic Garden, Mount Tomah and Australian Botanic Garden, Mount Annan. All artworks exhibited at Artisans are offered for sale with a 40% commission going to the Foundation & Friends.
