Sue's first art exhibition, residency and events for World Ocean Day

Posted by Sue Liu on

Sea Superstars take centre stage for Sue's first Art Exhibition.

Exhibition - Sydney's Sea Superstars

Inspired by her passion for the sea and diving in Sydney, Wildcard-Sue's  Sydney's Sea Superstars Exhibition, which co-incides with World Ocean Day, features around 15 of Sue's unique and realistic original illustrations of Sydney sea animals.

Sue draws from her experiences SCUBA diving, observing, photographing, filming these fascinating animals off the shores of her favourite dive sites. These include Shelly Beach in Manly, Clifton Gardens in Mosman, Botany Bay's Bare Island and Kurnell sites, and Shiprock in Caringbah.

You can expect to see the intricate details of weedy seadragons, seahorses, octopus and sharks. You'll also discover amazing animals you've never seen or heard of, including Red Indian Fish, Frog Fish or Pineapple Fish. These curious creatures are all vulnerable to the impact of pollutants, discarded garbage and refuse like fishing line and hooks that enter their environments and habitats.

Sue hopes to inspire people to be aware of the impacts of behaviours and take actions toward better care for both land and sea environments.  Sue will be also be showcasing debris collected from shore and ocean clean-ups, raising awareness about the endangered Eastern Blue Groper, through a creative colouring-in activity and highlighting the World Ocean Day (8 June) petition.
