International Women's Day Dive event in Jervis Bay

Posted by Sue Liu on

Happy International Women's Day 2021.

What an inspiring day, to spend it with women of all ages doing the thing we love - scuba diving.
I was honoured to be invited as the special guest today and introduce these of all ages and levels of diving to the Facebook group, Women of Water - Diving and Marine Conservation in Sydney.

Despite forecasts of dire swell and conditions- it was near perfect and 15 m vis at The Nursery and The Wall.
How refreshing and peaceful diving with 25 women. There’s a certain ‘vibe’ that comes with an ‘oestrogene enriched’ group of women, some who have only recently certified or who are returning to diving after a long time out. It’s exciting to meet so many young, energetic and courageous females who are the future of diving, conservation, research and training.
We need more of them.
It's so amazing to be diving with so many courageous women. #iwd2021 #girlsthatscuba
Thank you to the phenomenal crew at Dive Jervis Bay for their care, supreme event management and organisation, hospitality, snack and champers, and guiding. Led by Chloe White and the hard working crew, including Sabrina, Naomi, Alexa, Ella and skippers Chris and Warren, at DJB.
PS: Thank you gift - The Sydney Sea Soup Poster!!
