On the Edge - drawing live with Foundation and Friends of the Botanic Gardens

Posted by Sue Liu on

I'm delighted to be part of the Foundation and Friends of the Botanic Gardens exhibition that is entirely focused on endangered animals.

On the Edge - Species at Risk is a free exhibition

  • 18 March - 2 April
  • 10am-4pm -  each day at Lion Gate Lodge, Mrs Macquaries Road, Royal Botanic Garden Sydney.

LIVE ILLUSTRATION DEMONSTRATION

I'll be drawing LIVE again - showing in real time how I create realistic drawings from my photographs taken whilst diving.

Wednesday 22 March from 10am-2pm

I am thrilled to be drawing live again as part of this special exhibition!

I've been asked to draw a whale shark. I was very lucky to have an experience with these magnificent animals in December last year. I took photos and stayed in the water with them for 20 minutes.

Live demo On The Edge

Just last month (February) I drew a practice whale shark - live, whilst at a 4-day trade show. This is Graham the Whale Shark in progress. Come along and see these graceful animals come alive!!!

There will also be a range of my artist cards on display and sale at the exhibition, including the brand new Graham the Whale Shark that I drew in February as my 'practice' piece. A portion of the sale of cards raises money for the important work of the Foundation.

THANK YOU to the Foundation and Friends of Botanic Gardens for also hosting a workshop:

Creativity and Self Expression - Reignite your Creative Spark! - Tuesday 16 April from 10:30-1pm including lunch. Find out more and book your tickets here.
